About: Hugo Patyn’s love of dance started at the early age of five. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina he was trained in Argentine folklore dances, modern dance, partner technique, Flamenco, social and stage Tango. It was his passion for Argentine Tango that he exhibited a unique and artistic approach to dance that is best illustrated by body of work.

The recipient of more than 35 professional achievement awards, including the 1997 Grand Champion Festivál Folklórico de Cosquín, 1995 Hugo Del Carril Metropolitan Championship of Tango, Buenos Aires, and the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award, Carlos Gardel Festival of Los Angeles, California.

He has produced, directed, and choreagraphed Argentine Tango shows, including Tango and Fire  which ran in both Buenos Aires and the United States; The US Festival Internacional de Tango Argentino; El Corazon Del Tango; and Tango Buenos Aires (for Columbia Artists).

His show credits include: Super Tango (Bueno Aires), Forever Tango (Worldwide), Laugh & Tango (US & Canada), Follies Bergere (US), Alma del Tango (Japan & Taiwan), Tango Spirit III (Japan), Passion of Tango (US), Tango Fiesta (US), Tango and Fire (Argentina-US), El Corazon del Tango (US), Tango Dreams (US & Indonesia), Fusion Tango (US), I Tango (US).

Hugo has been a principal or star dancer with many famous orchestras and performers including: Color Tango Dir, Roberto Alvarez, Esemble Hyperion, Lisandro Adrover Quintet, Los Angeles Philarmonic Orchestra, Norberto Ramos, Opera Pacific Symphonic Orchestra, Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires Directed by Raul Garello & Carlos Garcia, Osvaldo Requena, Ryota Komatsu, Sexteto Tango, Soloist of D’Arienzo Direc. Carlos Lazzari, Alberto Castillo, Carlos Copes, Gloria & Eduardo Arquimbau, Josh Groban, Julio Bocca, Lisandro Adrover, Maria Graña, Osvaldo Berlingieri.

Mr. Patyn has appeared on television in many countries worldwide, including: Argentina, Italy (RAI), Japan, Mexico (Televisa), South Korea, USA (various). He also danced in the Carlos Saura film, Tango. His coporate appearances include: Paul Mitchell, IBM, and Opera Pacific.
