New York, NY - April 7, 2013: Brazilian Soprano, Caroline Braga is noted for her beautiful lyric sound and expressive communication with her audiences. Miss Braga will be giving a solo recital at the Manhattan School of Music in early April. Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in the States, Ms. Braga incorporates her Brazilian heritage in her programming. Caroline will preform a set of classical Brazilian “Modinhas” set by Ernani Braga. Her program will also include works by Respighi, Strauss, Schubert and Luigi Denza.
In 2012 Caroline’s work caught the attention of Grammy-winning Brazilian television actress, singer and children's television show host, Xuxa, who then featured Caroline on her television show. Caroline has also caught the attention of many Brazilian Television shows like Fantastico and Planeta Brasil. Ms. Braga has also attended various summer programs including the Académie Internationale d'Été de Nice, France, Walnut Hill Summer Opera Program in Italy, and the Chautauqua Music Festival.
Caroline continues to preform frequently and will soon be preforming a recital series to benefit keep classical music alive in Brazil.
Caroline is the recipient of the Birgit Nilsson Scholarship, the Governor's Award for Music Excellence and the Jeffrey Carollo Music Scholarship. Caroline is in the undergraduate program at the Manhattan School of Music where studies with Marlena Malas.
