Newark, NJ – December 12, 2011 – Mayor Cory A. Booker, the Newark Municipal Council, Deputy Mayor of Neighborhood Engagement Margarita Muñiz, Acting Director of Neighborhood and Recreational Services T. Karim Arnold, and other dignitaries will join municipal employees and residents from every ward to celebrate the City of Newark’s 26th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, in the City Hall First Floor Rotunda, at 920 Broad Street, on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. Deputy Mayor Muñiz will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
Performing at the ceremony will be the Newark Boys Chorus School’s Concert Chorus, the American History High School Choir, and local saxophonist Bobby Wise. Refreshments will be provided by the Department of Neighborhood and Recreational Services’ Division of Recreation/Cultural Affairs, and The Salvation Army.
