Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Denise Reis has thrilled audiences all around the world with her warm, expressive musicality and unique talent. Her continual musical success has been attributed in part to her extraordinary ability to imitate the sound of the trumpet with only her lips and voice.She is a truly dynamic performer, surprising and delighting listeners with impressive improvisations, innovative arrangements, and Latin-American jazz textures.
The rich emotion in Denise’s music allows her to transcend cultural barriers and speak directly to the ears and hearts of her audiences.Denise Reis has toured various countries including her native Brazil, Senegal, Ukraine, Venezuela, Portugal, and Israel, where she performed with world renowned composer Yoni Rechter.
In 2009 Denise was honored with an invitation to compose a song and perform for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Albany, NY. Her latest album, Alfândega, subtly injects world rhythms with a Brazilian sensibility. The album features musical production by Denise herself.
