City of Newark to hold Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on monday december 13

Local choral groups will perform traditional holiday music

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Newark, NJ – December 10, 2010 – Mayor Cory A. Booker, the Municipal Council, and other dignitaries will join municipal employees and residents from every ward to welcome the holiday season with the City of Newark’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, in the City Hall First Floor Rotunda, at 920 Broad Street, on Monday, December 13, 2010, at 4:30 p.m.

Performing at the ceremony will be the Newark Boys Apprentice Chorus School, the Newark Pre-School Page Academy Choir, and the Newark Boys Chorus. Refreshments will be donated by The Salvation Army and the G.I. Go Newark Veterans Transition Center.

WHO:             Mayor Cory A. Booker; representatives from the Salvation Army and the G.I. Go Newark Veterans Transition Center; Municipal Council members; the Newark Boys Chorus; the Newark Boys Apprentice Chorus School; and the Newark Pre-School Page Academy Choir.
