Confusion at the U.S. Immigration Service causes problem for applicants

Twenty two hundred immigration applicants found them selves in a confusing situation when they received multiple appointments for the same matter.

The National Benefits Center (NBC) of the U.S.Immigration Service (USCIS)  confirms that a scheduling glitch last week caused approximately 2,200 applicants to be scheduled for multiple interviews on the same case. Additionally, multiple notices were sent out regarding the duplicate interview dates.

NBC indicates that they were able to identify the individuals, and the additional interviews were de-scheduled. A letter to the applicant and their representative was sent to indicate which interview date and time the applicant show attend. The letters were dated and mailed on February 24, 2010. NBC further states that applicants should receive their letters in the next few days, and NBC apologizes for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

If anyone  receives two interview notices but does not receive a de-scheduling notice, please call NCSC at 1-800-375-5283.
